20 Years in the Making: Corneal Cross-linking is Here

Researching new technology is a big part of our work here at ClearSight. Dr. Luke shares his excitement about a new, cutting-edge procedure called corneal cross-linking!

Dr. Luke: Here at ClearSight, we're excited that we now have the ability to do corneal cross-linking. It's a wonderful technology. We have been waiting for over two decades to have this technology. We at ClearSight now have the ability to treat people with Keratoconus and other Ectatic diseases.

Keratoconus is a disease or a syndrome that affects somewhere between 1 in 500 people and 1 in 2000 people. That's a lot of people here in Oklahoma. Many people don't know that they have Keratoconus. It's typically associated with higher abnormal astigmatisms or a vision that can't be well-corrected with glasses or contacts.

The goal of cross-linking is to strengthen or stabilize your cornea so that glasses and contacts can work better and, in some cases, even refractive surgery can be done to improve your quality of vision.

We have been waiting for 20 years for this technology. It is very effective and it's been shown to improve the quality of vision for many people for whom there has been no other option.

“I just wish I had done it sooner!”

The number one thing we hear from our patients is that they wish they would have had vision correction sooner.

So the question for you is… why wait any longer?
