Julie's Story: Before & After ClearSight LASIK

I recall being on vacation with my mom, family travelling somewhere. It was about fifth grade, and I could not see. I could not see the menu that my mom and my cousin were looking at. They were looking at the price of something. I said, "Where are you guys looking at this?" I could not see it and my mom and cousin could see it just fine. My mom said, "Oh, Julie, I think you need to get back to Illinois and get some glasses."

If I have a book about six inches from my face, I can read without contacts or glasses. Driving is not an option. I have a restriction on my ID that says "glasses or contacts." It's kind of scary to think how poorly I see without glasses or contacts. I've been dreaming about LASIK, my husband can say, for over a decade. It's been on my wish list. Didn't think it would ever happen, but here we are at ClearSight, and I'm a candidate.

I'm feeling kind of jittery now that I know it's on the calendar. It's actually going to happen tomorrow. I'm really excited to be free, be free of glasses and contacts.

I had LASIK. I did it! Prior to LASIK, my vision was 26/80. Post-op today, 20/16. Go for the pre-op exam and see if you're a candidate and then pursue from there what you want to do. I would tell everybody to try it. It's going to be life-changing.
